Hello, I am using the name MusicHealsPain, but everyone can just call me MHP for short. I am a hip hop artist, but always consider myself a poet at heart. I like to make music that touches your heart and I look forward to reading and admiring all of your work. And of course sharing some things as well.

My name is Buck, and I've been writing poetry seriously since this past January, but I've written casually since grade school.

I'm a big fan of Paul Muldoon, Yusef Komunyakaa, Walt Whitman, T.S. Eliot, and Shakespeare.

My hobbies, other than writing and reading poetry, are hiking, sports, and playing the drum set.

I look forward to becoming a contributing member of this forum, both through submission and critique.

Cheers,
Buck

Hi everyone I am Mark and I just joined literally about 33 and a half minutes ago, but from what I've seen so far, I should of joined long before that. Looking forward to all the many wondrous adventures that I'm sure will happen here. Poetry is very important to me and this forum looks to be the perfect companion from which I can learn to appreciate poetry even more and in turn hopefully give something back. Where have you been all my life, or at least the last 5 years or so.
Thanks for existing, Mark.

Hi, my name is Ryan. Used to write poetry all the time, more like lyrics to songs unsung. I look forward to writing again. (m/39/married with kids)

Love the nickname, Hugh Smile. Welcome aboard (but I can't promise we'll always be terribly grown up!)

Hey.
I've been reading the poetry here, and I've liked a lot of what I read. I have yet to post up any of mine though.

I have some poems I'd like to share, but I'm not sure compared to most of the poems on here. I have no background in structure or literary form. I have been writing for about 15 years now. It started as a way to cope when I was 15 years old. Instantly I grew to love writing.

I'm a little nervous as to what you all might think. lol I know, I shouldn't be right? I would like to know any thoughts on my writing, though. Maybe it'll make me a better writer.

Here's to making new friends that like to write!

See you around!

Hiya Kickback -- we've all been there! Structure and form will come with practise, don't worry about that (even though it might seem impossible at first). We find that quality feedback is the best way to become quality writers, and we'd love to read your poems. Nobody expects perfection right away -- and most of us know from experience that the longer you've been writing, the further away that perfection appears Smile

This forum seems pretty laidback and chill. Lots of postings to read everyday. I like it.
