I like this poem a lot, even though the argument about nothing being original is a tired one (that seems to be used to justify apathy and elitism). Maybe you were being post-ironic? In which case I commend you. Regardless, enjoyed

I like the poem as well; especially as its subject is writing. I don't
regard "nothing being original" as an argument; it's an axiom. What's
interesting to me is all the theorems that stem from it. (Though an
absolute 'nothing' is going a bit far as there are true originalities
being created every day*.)
And, BTW, "nothing being original" is an ineffective way to justify
either apathy or elitism. The best single justification for both, IMHO,
is the "success of greed".
But just because almost nothing is original in a global sense doesn't
mean we don't perceive literally zillions of originalities at the
local level that all of us must necessarily live in. Just take the
tiny area of books. No one can possibly read more than a mere fraction
of all the books out there. If you read one that has been plagiarized
from a truly original one you haven't read, the copy will seem quite
original. And, in fact, at your local level, it IS original. The trick,
again, isn't in writing something original, but in finding a way
(an audience in this case) to make it seem original.

P.S. I'd say it occupies the middle ground between "post-ironic" and
"pre-sardonic" which, of course, is: "smart-alecky".

long it took you to finish your meal and how many forkfuls you swallowed.
