I've been reading the poetry here, and I've liked a lot of what I read. I have yet to post up any of mine though.
I have some poems I'd like to share, but I'm not sure compared to most of the poems on here. I have no background in structure or literary form. I have been writing for about 15 years now. It started as a way to cope when I was 15 years old. Instantly I grew to love writing.
I'm a little nervous as to what you all might think. lol I know, I shouldn't be right? I would like to know any thoughts on my writing, though. Maybe it'll make me a better writer.
Here's to making new friends that like to write!
See you around! most of us are in the same boat apart from showing our own stuff off

Hello All,
I go by Ferwynne, which is not my real name, but that of my favorite character.
I have been writing poetry and short stories for many moons, but having recently returned to college I sought a place to share and receive feedback from my peers, and found this site via Google. (the pig is my favorite symbol, so it was a natural choice)
I look forward to reading your poetry and gaining some new insights here.
Thanks!
Fer

Hiya Fer, thanks for googling us Pig lovers are, of course, our favourite people.
Welcome, and we look forward to having you around.

I'd love a poem about the Battle of Bannockburn.

Today seems like your lucky day. Though I know some here don't believe in coincidences. Someone in the Poetry for Fun section needs your help with a custom poem.

Hi all! I look forward to reading your work, sharing mine, and exchanging ideas. My goal is to learn and grow my own talent while trying my best to help others do the same. My daytime field of work is very demanding and technical and i love more than anything to escape it at the end of the day and retreat into the written word. See you 'round!

that was a terrible introduction
i was lying really, it wasn't bad. welcome to the site anyone who gives feedback will be loved
Writing gets demanding and technical. And more than escaping into it, I usually try so hard to escape from it that I end up drunk and strung out in a ditch and once again on some upper floor psych ward.
But I read that you are a dancer. So maybe you have more balance than me.

Hey all
tadaki here. Found this site while googling "poetry critique" and it seems to be a really active community!
I must confess I don't know much about poetry, and tbh I quite detested it in school hahah Never could understand very much about it, but recently I've started writing and reading some and well... here I am
Looking forward to learning more and interacting with everyone here!

hi and welcome to the site.
i see you already left some feedback, most of us no nothing about poetry so you're in good company
School is a horrible place to learn. Unless your teacher is hot. I didn't go to school as much as I was supposed to; and that time period was one where all the teachers were old and about to retire. Right after that, a whole shit load of hot young teachers came along.
I did go back to school a while before I was too old to be there. My substitute English teacher was only a few years older than me. And she was wonderful. Now she's a French teacher. But she's married. The man she's married to was also a teacher at that school. He was young too. One time he was walking and he tripped over a small stone, and he fell on the ground and broke his arm. Some people are built weak.
But those kinds of things had more poetry in them than anything anybody was teaching.
