Hello, I look forward to becoming part of this community. I have been writing poetry since I was a kid, back in my younger days I wrote more along the lines of humorous light verse but I've recently found my preference in writing darker rhyming syllabic verse. I work in IT for a living and also run an internet radio station so I lead a fairly busy life. I tend to do a good portion of my writing at work.

Also I'm a stickler for rhyme and rhythm

Hello, my name is Megan. I am almost 19 and currently reside in Alaska.
I am a member of other poetry sites, I just enjoy feedback. I want to be writer, though my interest in poetry sparked freshman year in highschool (now a senior).
I write on a wide variety of subjects and styles. I find I am best at observing others and more romantic stuff. Also, I enjoy writing in free verse, sometimes prose, and sometimes traditional (though not as much).
I expect to learn and grow, and accept honest criticism. Smile

Hello everyone. This feels like a good place to be. Smile

Although I’ve mainly been writing lyrics for the past 6 years, I did begin life, so to speak, writing poetry. Lately, I’ve felt the urge to get back to those roots.

I’m a Canadian living in Delft, the Netherlands.

Hi there Donna, welcome back to the dark side Smile Lyrics are great and all, but it's hard to shake poetry isn't it?

Thanks, Leanne. Smile

And to your question: Indeed it is. Wink

Mind you, I did learn to write poetic lyrics. Wink

Never saw that one, but it makes me think of penises, because I am not original at all.
I'll be there in a minute.

Newsclippings - I for a brief second, was concerned of that connection. After all, if you were trying to see how many words you could build out of Pigpenians - that would be one of them.
