Art is pointless within the purview of the rational or logic, it neither lifts the bail nor hoist the beam, nor does it instruct one in how to do so, however art can make a person feel that he is a part of a greater cause and inspire him to labor to his utmost towards that goal. Of course I'm not sure what any or most of the comments have to do with the title of this section. I will say that the idea of "literal" clarity vs. symbolic clarity" makes little sense to me. It's like comparing the sweetness of a person with that of an apple.

The goal is not to obfuscate that which is clear, but make clear that which isn't.

My cat threw up on the floor

That's not plagiarism, that's fact! It is also an example of the literal and symbolic combined
