I have told a few of you that a contracted pneumonia a while back. It turns out that it was due to a faulty heart valve resulting in congestive heart failure. The valve has been repaired and I am well on my way to recovery.

Sorry, to have missed National Poetry Month, as I really enjoyed the challenge last year! Cheers/Chris
Hey welcome back, Chris! That all sounds very scary. I'm glad you're on the mend.

That's funny, we already have loads of Juan Kerrs signed up... must be a common name.

Hope your heart is up to the rigours of the Pen again, Chris.

Hi everyone, brand newbie here. It's been a while since I've posted on a message forum similar to this one, but meh, I'm sure I'll get used to it again. I will say I had a serious case of internet-nostalgia when I saw an option for entering in your ICQ information on the profile page, holy cats I'd forgotten that was even a thing. Major high school flashback, which I guess is appropriate if I'm going to writing poetry for my inner angst monster.

Thank you Billy, Leanne, Milo, Mercedes! Yes, there is plenty of poetry left in me. It's starting to back up after the repair of that leaky valve.

Of course I welcome you back, but I was wondering when you said "It's starting to back up
after the repair of that leaky valve." that you were implying that the poems you'd written before were
from the result of leakage? While I know love poems are created by people with broken hearts,
I'd never known valve leakage was a cause as well. Does this mean that everyone here has a heart
problem or some other sort of health problem? Will you be able to write poetry now?

Well, none of that matters at the moment, the most important thing is that you're well.
Welcome back,
ray

eeeek! that's scary. glad to hear you're doing better!

i've been m.i.a. myself the last few months. life gets in the way sometimes and my poetry bug is flitting around somewhere refusing to come home to rest on my shoulder. the only thing of substance that i've written recently is a lengthy grocery list  Angry words are hard!

welcome to the pen, newbs. may your quills be full and your ink indelible.

Going along with the sexual metaphor for a moment...
I get what the pencil is, what I can't figure out is what the eraser stands for.
