    Welcome, ray

To embrace its different challenges?  Tongue

Some say "different challenges", though it's more often described as "start with this, it's the easiest".

Comfortable in sonnets, not necessarily good (when ready to post, you decide - my impression: as comfort increases, good gets more difficult).

Not to get too deep as a rank noob, but sometimes forms liberate, sometimes they're a crutch.  Still uncomfortable in free verse, so keep picking  at it.

And thanks for the welcome.  (Nested replies - some boards prevent them automatically! Thumbsup  )

Looking forward to reading all of your work and learning about poetry from scratch!

Since you don't need cars or guns to write poetry, you're two-thirds of the way there already.

I suppose this is where I am to introduce myself.

My name is John.

I hope here that some fellow poets, though I hazard I don't become the title very well, will help me better my poems. I have been writing for some time yet, but most of my poems are not all too good. Thank you for helping out!

Hello everyone,
I am just here to enjoy the poetry of others, and perhaps post some of my own or like poetry. :-)

Welcome, all. Three thoughtful posts in any of the workshops (Novice, Mild and Serious) makes you a full member of the Pen. You can click on any forum title for posting guidelines for that forum, they vary. I hope you enjoy the site. Smile

I've read your first two critiques: Well done! One more and you get a hug. Smile

Well, welcome to the club; most of everybody's poems are not all that good.
That's what PigPen is about*: Learning to reduce the number of "not all that good" 's. Smile

Enjoying the poetry of others is a talent in short supply.

This seems very cool. I'm relatively new to the vast realm of poetry, but i look forward to being immersed in a community of intellectual conversation.

Hiya, generally pretty new to poetry so thought I'd check out some forums to expand my knowledge and search out some feedback. This seems like the best one i've stumbled across so far!
