Welcome, ray To embrace its different challenges? Some say "different challenges", though it's more often described as "start with this, it's the easiest".
Comfortable in sonnets, not necessarily good (when ready to post, you decide - my impression: as comfort increases, good gets more difficult).
Not to get too deep as a rank noob, but sometimes forms liberate, sometimes they're a crutch. Still uncomfortable in free verse, so keep picking at it.
And thanks for the welcome. (Nested replies - some boards prevent them automatically! )

But we all know that none of it is easy.

I suppose this is where I am to introduce myself.
My name is John.
I hope here that some fellow poets, though I hazard I don't become the title very well, will help me better my poems. I have been writing for some time yet, but most of my poems are not all too good. Thank you for helping out!

Hello everyone,
I am just here to enjoy the poetry of others, and perhaps post some of my own or like poetry. :-)

Welcome, all. Three thoughtful posts in any of the workshops (Novice, Mild and Serious) makes you a full member of the Pen. You can click on any forum title for posting guidelines for that forum, they vary. I hope you enjoy the site.

Well, welcome to the club; most of everybody's poems are not all that good.
That's what PigPen is about*: Learning to reduce the number of "not all that good" 's.

* That and having fun with this thing some call "English" (not to be confused
with "British", a malformed derivative, the product of being isolated on a rather bleak little
island slightly to the west of real civilization. Hopefully you're not a current resident; but if so,
I congratulate your success at overcoming great odds. [Australia, though much larger {chiefly

which lends itself to the creation of poetry.])

Or taking the "not all that good"s and trying to turn them into "not all that bad"s.

This seems very cool. I'm relatively new to the vast realm of poetry, but i look forward to being immersed in a community of intellectual conversation.

Hiya, generally pretty new to poetry so thought I'd check out some forums to expand my knowledge and search out some feedback. This seems like the best one i've stumbled across so far!
