you can be right or happy
he was right, as they hauled away
his rent body from the motel 6 setting
right next to the country bar
and the burps of the bear-bellied fellas,
 no one did care.

There's a part of methat you'l never see.
 A part of my mind
 Hid from all mankind
A place to put my dirt
 the times I get hurt,
 memories of a wasted youth.
 Words that sooth
 could not make right
 that night
 I sat against a tree
 wanting to flee
 my living hell,
 something to sell
 my soul came to mind
 looking behind
 at a life wasted
 I can almost taste it.
 freedom from me
I open my eyes to see
 for the last time
 my life is a crime
 Never solved...

		Journey Man
There was a man, heaven forsaken.
For his love, was long lost, taken.
As god watched him with holy eyes,
Even he could not see past his disguise.
The man had wished on a star,
Praying to gods both near and far.
To find his love, which was long lost, taken.
From the god that he forsaken.

The man had only one wish,
To see the one he long had missed.
Without any help, just by himself,
 Only his mortal shelf.
For his soul, that forgotten to be happy,
 Was all that left,
Wishing that he could long forget.

He started his journey, a step a time.
For he, himself, was nowhere near his prime.
His journey led him up, not within sight.
 A journey, long time coming,
A journey his life had been summing.

The end was in his sight,
Not in reach of mortal blight.
He reached the place, he could go back no more.
But all he met was a plain white door.
When he opened, his sight was no more,
After he opened the plain white door.

He only saw a pair of eyes,
 Using a mortal disguise.
He had seen a long lost friend,
The god he forsaken all back then.
The god’s eyes could pierce all,
But yet not his mortal call.

This god has asked, no begged, no pleaded,
But this man’s strength had been depleted.
All was left for him to fall,
This man was ready for it all.
He went down without any struggle,
For his pain was all but subtle.

 The man had done it,
The journey had ended, for he won it.
He had lost the burden of his long lost love,
For he ascended, higher than god above.
The pain had lasted a long time,
Longer than the feet that they could find.

You're leaving and it's your choiceinner child gutted by powerlessness
 final act of soaring defiance
against the tormentors in your brain.

If you have to leave, stay.
 Don't jump out the window
 don't hang from the fan
Walk out the door, to your nearest convenience store
buy a pack of the strongest cigarettes you know
 enjoy yourself
 take the hard way out.

Delightful!  They're not coffin nails... they're hesitation marks, like bullet holes in the ceiling or shallow cuts on the wrist.

Cry out, as the abyss stares inside,Burn out, as the rain drowns the tide,
Laugh out, as the demons hitch a ride,
Stub out, dead cigarettes in my eyes.

 Build shields to invisible enemies,
 Pour oil on persistent memories,
Fight fire with a broken heart,
Don your mask, and play your part.

Light dims with each dying day,
Like dead cigarettes sleeping in an ashtray.
Broken body haunted by a broken soul,
Agonised by the absence of the heart I stole.

The Motel windows catch arcs of blue lightthen drops them onto wet tarmac.
The mood stands in small groups
arms folded cold, as time smokes cigarettes
 and murmurs to strangers.

A fist floor door opens and a black mass
wheels along beneath the outside handrail.
Our eyes carry it into a slither of white walls and green beds.
The clunk of the rear doors leaves behind another rumor
and a red penned asterix on tomorrows cleaning roster.

If your undies fer you've been smoking through em, don't peg em out

		Cycles
I take the pills, though not sick
half a bottle should do the trick

clasping a note for history's sake
I close my eyes...but then awake

upon a lounger on a silver shore
 unsure of what, went before

and at my side, my loving wife
just one of the blessings of my life

then start to snooze, once again
yet a conflict brews inside my brain

while my conscious drifts, my psyche can't deal
 with what is dream
 and what is real

I've always said, 'if you try to kill me, that may be what god has inspired you to do, so I won't hold it against you, but I very well might kill you if you try'.  I think a lot of suicides are just being murdered by depression, maybe I will kill myself, what do elementary kids know?

 My back is bent
 and hurts too much today–
 perhaps hanging
 would straighten it.
