what is time? A sieve
through which light

I hear the ticking in the other room.
My fault. I programmed daily morning dose
reminders. Time's a little fluid here.
I pencil five iambic feet, or ten,
Or none - I'm counting syllables each time! -
My classic clock has measured each the same.
I need to get a better clock that knows
time is poetry.

I personally get annoyed by the non-literal use of "ultimately". But I know that's just me. I can't tell whether it's literal here because it doesn't seem to add much either way.
