i don't see embroidery (in the context of telling a story) as lying, it's what we all do. little fibs i don't see as lying either. to me a lie is a solid act of trying to deceive another in a manner that's advantageous to you, or with malice. lying to protect the innocent is sometimes the nobler thing to do.
