You evidently know little about standard measures. I suspect it was a personality assessment not too dissimilar to the MMPI, any other kind of assessment, especially self-reporting, would not even be considered for peer review. Considering this research is out of Northwestern University I tend to think the synopsis on the assessment is simply poor reporting. Self-reporting is never used as it generally must rely on the person's memory and perception, both of which are never accurate. Such things are never used in any type of legitimate study, not even in the social sciences.
