Have you been before? If you plan museums, the Frick is one of my faves, usually a quiet retreat from the mayhem. And check music listings, pick someone you like playing a small venue, they're all over. And wear your walking shoes, Manhattan is pretty flat and much of it is a simple street grid, easy to get around, you can easily walk miles. Unless your wallet is full and you want to try the elite restaurants, there's tons of great reasonably priced food from all over the world, just check menus.
