Perfection

gaping holes

inadequately stitched
by fraying strings


the needle swims
through flesh
then tugs at
forgotten heartstrings


seams meld with flesh
becoming flawless scars
(evidence of imaginary trials)


a smile
my smile
the teeth are still slightly
crooked
