Afraid of the night

Childhood is afraid
of the night, the thin hands
of malevolent ghosts. Youth is unafraid
of the night, with its host
of stars like sheep, Cynthia,
and her wand 
of the effulgent moon.
Mid life is afraid 
not of night, but the soon
coming dawn, upending 
respite, its dreams of the past 
where it hides from the future, not a friend.
Old age is afraid of the night
once again, of the one 
with no light,
with no end.

This is one of my favorites I have read from you busker. My one maybe critique is line three maybe making "youth is unafraid" it's own line to set it apart from the previous idea if that is the intent. When I read it out loud it sounds good sperated. I really like the original too though I think the revisions paint a vivid picture that comes full circle. Awesome read.
