Hmm, definitely don't think women are smarter. Men and women just have different competencies. Men (generally) are better at learning maths, and make good engineers. Women (generally) are better at learning languages, and make better communicators. Men are wired to focus. Women are wired to multitask.

I'd definitely have to disagree about men being "smart enough to treat women better" . The feminist movement, where women fought for equal rights, was a long, hard, painful road; men pretty much had to be beat on the head with the idea before finally relenting. (And even then, there are still lots of patriarchal, chauvinistic societies up to today)
