the thing many people find offensive and i have to be honest and say i'm not they; is the very fact that they are bred just for food. just to be slaughtered and eaten.
while i have no problem eating farm reared (domesticated) animals. i do think the land and farming could be better utilized as shown in the source for the energy input to the calorific output of certain meats. and also in relationship to the methane output of cowshit and pigshit etc.
if the fact they were born to feed us makes it okay. why not breed humans to eat? it would surely solve the over populating. everything after one kid gets eaten.
