Oh Tiny Tree

Oh tiny tree
No taller than me
With your little
Red leaves
Shaped like child's hands.

Today is your day,
You held out till the last
And now you're sharing
Your leaves for us, alas!

I get to watch them
Drift and twitter,
Floating slowly to the ground
As the wind shakes
Your fragile branches
Are you chilly out there?

I watch your
Beautiful dance.
I saw your first leaf fall.
And one, two, three more.
It is a windy day,
You shall be bare by nightfall.

Your dance captivates me
Oh tiny tree
You are more than movement
You are grace and glory.
At first I knew you as small.
Now I see you are quite tall!

Adorable! Strictly speaking, you didn't apply any personification to the tree, but it feels like quite a character to me Smile
PS. If you can, try your hand at giving some of the others a bit of feedback. If you already have, thanks, can you do some more?

I very much enjoy you Bianca.
Your words in this poem are wonderful.

Your dance captivates me
Oh tiny tree
You are more than movement
You are grace and glory.
You give to the world when you're giving your best to somebody else.

it sounds like a maple tree;

Red leaves
Shaped like child's hands.

It isn't a maple but a dogwood and it had a lot of character.

I miss that tree. It was right in front of me in the window at my old job. Sad boo hoo.

It's autumn again, I bet it is shedding it's leaves and shivvering (brrrr) in the cold.

It was 30 last night. Smile
