Oh Sad

Loss and loneliness in 15 syllables. This is lovely.
It could be worse

excellent! a very tiny nit to pick would be using the title Samhain as a "fourth line" to enhance the other three lines.

thanks donbouquet. i disagree with your suggestion but to each his/her own. i think using it as a title alone is sufficient to set the stage  Smile i appreciate the comment!

I did Google this and now I feel like a dumb ass, seeing as my mother has been practicing Wicca since before I was born... Certainly is a fitting title and sheds a whole new light on the piece for me.

How did I miss this? It's been crazy I suppose. It is a lovely senryu, i love the double entendre of love & loss and the pagan celebrations. Its just wonderful.

The auspicious time when Mordred was quickened...at least according to Marrion Zimmer Bradley. A poem worthy of the date.

How long after picking up the brush, the first masterpiece?

The goal is not to obfuscate that which is clear, but make clear that which isn't.

yes, The Mists of Avalon. it's been years since i've read that. never read any of the other books in the series, but i did enjoy her telling of Arthurian legend. maybe i should pick it up and reread it some day.

thanks, Dale.
