Flapdoodle/Verbigeration (Word of the Day poem)
#1
Don't tell me it's coincidence
today's words of the day are both nonsense
so much verbigeration
in this flapdoodle nation
I must babble away in this instance

His issues are verbigeration
of his early familial relation
all that weak baby crap
that pours out of his trap
is just nonsense with no connotation

You imply that my poems are flapdoodle
and I've lost the last bite of my noodle
but they're all I can do
I assumed that you knew
I just translate the thoughts of my poodle

I saw an interesting piece on how the f and d sounds are just silly together.

Flapdoodle one can assume but it was verbigeratin that got me.

Maybe I should have coffee before I post. Big Grin

Popeye locked on to the "kn" humour. Words containg the spaced pairing are somehow knomedic. Kernock, kernock for example. He also exchanged t for k almosk as an impedimenk.
A whole generation were brough up on  knonsense speak.

"What are ya gonna name him, baby Oyle?" (Robin Williams as Popeye)

Du'no gainsay Popeye, he fights wid his fisks!

Excellent work Marcella, a double word score!

Although I don't often have the need to use "verbigeration" in a sentence, it is something I practice quite religiously. At our dinner table we preferred to call it echolalia, of course we were more in the "now" sort of folk. The less intelligent people would say the distinction is a bucket of flapdoodle, but so are the unwashed masses and their rural tongue, always lapping at the trough of the benighted. Yet, no royalty will emerge from that bagatelle.

How long after picking up the brush, the first masterpiece?

The goal is not to obfuscate that which is clear, but make clear that which isn't.
