Hi there. I am new to the whole forum thing. Glad to meet everyone. I'm married with two kids, one of which lives with me. I'm not easily offended but there are hot-button issues that I react passionately about. I don't think those things would be brought up in a critque forum anyway, so don't worry about offending me! Much love to all and I can't wait to get started!

Hello! My names Sam and I've been writing poetry for about 5 years now its not always particularly good but hey that's is one reason I am optimistic to joining this forum.
I've posted my work online before through Tumblr and Facebook with mild to no response and I guess really I came here because I like the idea of getting some critique and intellectual comments on some of my pieces. I am hoping to revise my old work and build on my newer pieces as the days push forward. I hope y'all like what I have to offer and leave some awesome and helpful comments!

Hi everyone,
I decided to deactivate my social media account today and thought joining a poetry forum like Pig Pen would be much more enlightening. I used to be an active user on Poetry-Chaikhana before that forum was deactivated by the owner. I am a 25 year old living in London now, originally American with family roots in Iran. My poetry has been heavily inspired by my late uncle Dr. Javad Nurbakhsh, who was a Sufi Master and Poet. I look forward to sharing some of my collection of poetry with everyone here at the Pen, some of it lacks maturity as I myself started writing when I was 16 years old and lacked maturity then, some say I still lack it )) I also look forward to reading other poetry on here and sharing some thoughts

Hey all! I just started a new Poetry channel on YouTube, so I figured it would be good to get involved in a poetry-sharing community. I've memorized other peoples' poetry, for the most part, as I'm not a very good author, but I think I can perform it all pretty well. Here's my first video: link removed/admin
(Where would be the appropriate place to post that? I get the impression most of these subforums are here for people to share poetry they wrote -- are performances of other peoples' poetry welcome?)
For those interested, I've memorized a good amount of poetry, including The Raven, five of Shakespeare's sonnets, and my personal favorite to perform, The Jabberwocky.
Hello. I am trying to get back into writing again. I felt that a poetry community would definitely help. It has been a couple of years and many experiences since I have written; so please be patient with my writing. I can't wait to read the poetry everyone has to offer!

Hello fanakz, welcome to the Pen.
I hope that you find the community you are looking for and perhaps some inspiration for your writing. I look forward to reading the poetry you have to offer as well.
