hi roy, from what i've read so far the feedback you give is thoughtful and helpful which is the most prcious thing a member can give.
it's also good to read your poetry and know you can accept the feedback given to it.
 welcome to the site.

		Hello everyone !
Oinkie Jim here. A 33-year-old french-english weirdo.
I was looking for that dream poetry place to post some of my stuff and read others, so I hope - and I think this is THE place.
I've been writing silly things for over 20 years, from poems to songs and also a few longer stories that never had a proper ending.

I'll take the time to discover the forum and its rules then you'll probably see me around every day

Hi, Jim. Just five thoughtful critiques in the workshops makes you a full member. Welcome.
Hey, Roy, welcome.

looking forward to it, the only thing expected of us really, is to give 1 piece of reasonable feedback for each poem we post in the main three forums. the rules are worth a read and they're not that strict. just jump in and post. Howdy all.
I just found this thread so thought I would say "Hi". I am a newbie poet but I do enjoy it. I took a creative writing elective last semester and found that I actually enjoy writing poetry. I have been lurking here for a couple of days and realize that I have a lot to learn. I have to admit though that I feel kind of hypocritical in evaluating others work as I am still so new at it but I will try and offer as much help criticism as I can. Right now I have about six or seven poems that I am proud of so I will be posting them (one a day of course) and I hope you all enjoy them. I look forward to the feedback as I only want to get better. Thanks!

You will be surprised at how much you can learn from critiquing other poems. In fact, I always suggest it as the BEST way to learn how to write!

Welcome aboard, jump in with both feet but watch out for the piranha in the jacuzzi.

Hello! I just wanted to introduce myself quickly before I began posting regularly. I've been interested in creative writing and poetry since I was a child. I took some creative writing classes in undergrad and often incorporated my own poetry into my visual art. However, as an art historian, I'm not as trained in poetic writing. I'm here for the same reasons I'm sure we all are- to learn by immersing myself in others' work and have my own critiqued. So, I'm excited to be a member and get started!

simmon, I find it difficult to write in my first language...much less any others. I am always amazed by those who are willing to try. If I can help at all, I will.
