I like this. Rather vivid, and the breaks are nice. Would make a good valentine, too -- that is, a good one, and not one you'd find on a shelf.

I like that the "frozen frog" is "infamous". "Indian summer" gives it meaning, but I don't love the phrase.
Cute lil' frog of a poem, and I agree with RiverNotch. This on a valentine would give me googly-eyes like no Hallmark can.

Thanks River. I think I've finally sworn off ELH. I prefer to write in the spirit of Haiku for now. I like this one too, although there's an element of cliche in "Indian summer" I think the term was necessary on a couple levels, so it remains.

Thank you egr. You must have been typing at the same time as me and I missed you. I wanted the frozen frog to be infamous both for sonics, and for these frog's somewhat obscure notoriety. "Indian Summer" is what it is; too important to cut, and too cliche to go unnoticed. Hallmark never return my tweets.
