Still

From the walls
A scritch scratch–
(scritch scratch)

On the floor
A drip drop–
(drip drop)

Lumpy blankets
Contains a bed of mice.

Squeak squeak–
(squeak squeak)

Groaning house;
Aching, breathing,
Cold fingertips wafting.

Screaming, scratching, crying–
Silence.

Quiet sniffles
(sniffle sniffle)

thin

On the floor
A drip drop–
(drip drop)

fatty, and, weighty

Lumpy blankets
Containing a bed of mice.

Thickness of life-realty/reality

Squeak squeak–
(squeak squeak)

The same same

Groaning house;
Aching, breathing,
Cold fingertips wafting.

Screaming, scratching, crying–
Silence.

Quiet sniffles
(sniffle sniffle)

Stuck in the sensations of still being still

Are you playing with the layers of lonely places here?

Yes indeed. I want to give a sense of loneliness off of most of my poems.
