Random Prompt #15 another warm up
#1
Hey everyone. I decided against having a monthly theme for March because I didn't want to take away from NaPM.
I do think it might be fun to do some stretching first though. So, I thought a few random prompts between now and April 1 might help...

Write a poem inspired by an unusual find. - (rare seashell, 4 leaf clover sorta thing.)

Bonus points for using the words "ingested," "birth," and/or "blue."

*** a reminder that prompts are not rigid. Poems about beer, arrows or vomit will not be considered out of place.

Go!

At a beach west of Portland

One found the beach
by traveling out of the forest
down a path through a trench,
and I stepped out.

Before I could absorb
the immense ocean
I turned back
and saw a panoply of faces
grotesque visages
carved into the sandy cliffs

casting their message of abandon
out across the Pacific
until they crumbled again into the universe
of hard packed sand.

In a black bag with Singapore Noodle,
the napkins, forks, chopsticks
and diced chili in plastic container
bounce against your leg
walking home from work.

After a slow meal,
you read your fortune:
beware all enterprises
requiring new clothes.
