With the title and seasonal reference, this is quite an agreeable haiku/love poem... even without understanding what "scarid" means in this context.  Now that I've looked it up, the image of a parrot-fish nibbling on a corral  (who is nibbler, speaker or spoken-to?) will remain after the mystery is resolved.

I wonder what other poems could be improved, or founded on a single word of mysterious meaning... the ay you let me touch your gaste (sic).

That was my first guess (along with "scared" and "scarred") but I hesitate to second-guess.  Good poem.
