I just found out that TranqulityBase (Tim Prather) passed away in May.  Tim was a beloved member and moderator, a talented poet, and a patient and encouraging mentor to many.  He will be sorely missed.

Thanks Quix for letting us know.  He was such a fixture here in the Pen for me, so generous with his time.  I think he critiqued nearly every poem that was posted on the site.  Hard to believe he's gone.

I always felt Tim was tightest with you, Steve. I miss him already, but one profound thing about the Pen is we can still learn from him. His stunning poetry and keen observations remain with us. My only regret is that Tim didn't find us sooner.

Tim was a true poet. Nearly every one of his poems would be amongst the best on this site.
At his best, Tim was no worse than Larkin or any of the greats.

Oh, that's tragic. From my very brief interactions he seemed a lovely soul. One of my favorite critics.

Sad news for sure - he was always friendly, his poetry was usually pretty good, and I always liked hearing his critique.

He sent me a link to his youtube a few months ago, on his channel he read a few poems by other people, and I think made some audio of his own poems, mostly audio and text cut ups.

I was manic when this happened and likely in the psych ward when this thread was posted.
I loved his crit on my poems, he reminded me alot of some others who went to soon.
