Reconciliation

Reconciliation

Let's talk real art,
what makes it true?
Mastering syllables,
trauma, hope renewed?

Every morning I see
prayers from the worlds other side.
In a warzone shown to me
on my hand held phone.

These writings are
the most true words I've read.
Tears behind every word
a women trapped, an unwanted war.

Throughout her stanzas bombs.
Her subject, the life of her child.
Conflicts scars show senselessly
the death of family.

She is my favorite writer
a good friend.
She is a proud mother
to a child stronger than I.

I write stories of regretting
my past, while she prays for my health.
In my thoughts wishing I could be a moth
shielding them from hunger and death.

The difference is
is I am stuck sick, tomorrow
her poems might stop.
Leaving me alone here to cry.

Maybe now is a good time
to relearn to pray.
For her, and for us.
Does God weep behind wars silhouette?

In another life,
I'd be her friend.
Sharing each other's poems,
talking about Heaven.
Only one thing is impossible for God: To find any sense in any copyright law on the planet.

“ In another life,
I'd love to be her friend.
Sharing each other's poems,
talking about Heaven.”

Could be a nice short poem by itself.
Maybe instead of “I’d love to be…”, have the more direct “I’d be..”?

Nice one

Thanks Busker!
Glad you liked this poem. I took your advice too.
