		"Dear Mister Stone,"
Many times after class you said how strong
our legs looked beneath our skirts— so,
how easy to walk kilometers back to our farm.
Then, the pickup pulled over.
Veruska giggled and got in-- a creamy wafer
wedged between two big men; and I thought,
if she can accept a ride, then why not me?
She's a prudent girl armed with her granny's
fierce instructions, and I was your best student.
I climbed in. The front seat was so high,
and dear teacher-- no one ever saw us again.
Love,
Cassie

It's clever and fits the title.

How long after picking up the brush, the first masterpiece?
The goal is not to obfuscate that which is clear, but make clear that which isn't.

a little dark and a lot likeable
the ambiguity in it is perfect.
Veruska giggled and got in-- a creamy wafer
wedged between two big men; and I thought,
what a really strong image.
for me this would be called a keeper.
thanks for the read.

Being the oik I am I had to look up "prolepsis." Having done so, this poem strikes me as one of the nastiest and most enjoyable I've read recently. Poor Cassie and Veruska. I'm sure when their bones are discovered Mister Stone will read this note again and smile.

nastiest poem posted on the internet today,
but probably not the most enjoyable.
Thanks for the reply ...
