I listened to "Opium" from your blog while reading this.
quite enjoy the imagery and the mention of Afyon to add some
depth

This is great, Dickens died before finishing the novel and
the mystery remains. I like how you tell of a person trying
to conjure mysteries of some sort with dreaming.

afyon is Turkish for Opium. Next to that town south of Ankara are the biggest poppy fields in Turkey. That is why the town is named Afyon. Opium. More about Afyon poppy is to be found here:
