Hello, i had written a poem and just tossed it up on a few forums.

The first place copied it off my paper was to some sort of poem roulette site that forced posters to review random poems in order to submit, needless to say since we didnt pick the poems were were reviewing we didnt choose ones of things we may like.

So my first review was "you took alot on that"

Its nice that someone had something to say about it when i posted it here.

I do want to mention that I have no formal collegiate training in writing and a very sloppy way of approaching grammar and handwriting, but i have read alot of various literature.

I am not very comfortable criticizing others works here, unless the writer and others posting here do not put much weight on my responses.

hi smak, we'd love for you to leave feedback. though please don;t just say "wow, that's great" Wink
when we post in the feedback forums we expect and hope for feedback. in fact if you post a few poems it's expected of you to give it Smile as for grammar, we'll point it out but it's up to you if or not to take notice.

welcome to the forum

My name is Gurkski, Serge Gurkski.

Let me introduce myself best with a lil ditty I just scribbled down with my dirty fingers:

Even devils may hang over

I meet a girl every now and then, who makes me wanna feel like any other man.
Devil's Blues by Charles Mingus

Fingers still clam from
last night's Bourbon
snap the fresh dark
new and blue
baby night

Night is a wizard
whose magic stick
brushes over
the wantoning tip
of my lips
to make a clown
of them

They slapstick inebriatedly
to their master's choreo-
graphy,
love
me

Me has got fingers
clam still from
last night's rendez-vous
with a bottle and you.

(for Holly Hunter, the sweet fine little lady love I desire ;-) )

cheers to everyone and thank you for having me!

Serge

Hey, I've never even read poetry until recently. I don't even hear the lyrics of songs; I just tune them out.

Regardless I've become interested in poetry, and have been playing around with it. My poetry is really bad, and I'd like to improve.

I'm okay at giving criticism, and good at taking it. I know I suck, I just want thoughtful responses to what I write (hopefully from people more familiar with the form than I).

So yep, hi!

Hi! I guess a proper introduction is in order. My name's Brandon, a Singaporean born Chinese. Born in 1992, so, I'm going through quarter-life crisis right now. I've always been really interested in literature as a subject, and I used to study Chinese literature in my school. I write, because it's fun for me. Nice to meet you all. =)
