Hello there! I was bored and thought about expressing myself and writing poems was the best thing I thought up. I am a total amateur and not very good at it so........please teach me Master Splinter? I'll adhere to the rules and won't be a dick!

Who is this master splinter? I must speak to him.

We can certainly help, we are very knowledgeable, but not very good at it either....so you'll fit in well. We do have some koolaid for the newbs served in the dungeon. Don't mind the smell.

Since the person who founded this pen of pigs doesn't adhere to the rules (actually the old rules
as each time he breaks one he amends it so he didn't) and is, sometimes, a flaming dick (damn, that hurts
just typing it), you'll fit in just fine. Most of the writers here are NOT amateurs and not very good at it as
well. So you already meet one of the essential requirements for being a PigPenner; if you stay here long
enough, you'll acquire the other.

Welcome.

As sincere as ever,
ray

P.S. The very mention of the Master Splinter (damn!) subtracts 5 merit points from you PigScore;
try not to do it again, they're watching.

Hello,

I'm new here and having trouble working the site. I don't see how to post a poem. I' ve read the help section and see that there should be a new topic button on each forum - but I don't see that.

I was really excited about participating, giving and receiving feedback on poems but am getting frustrated with the site. I also can't get the PW reset thing to work. Help.

I have been writing poetry for quite some time, love it with a passion and have a Masters Degree in creative writing from a well known US university.

Thanks for your help.

Anne

Hi, Anne. Seems you've read everything but your welcome letter. Big Grin The first three critiques in the workshops are moderated, you post em, they get approved (they're not cut and paste one-liners), then the posts show up. Until then you can't post your own work, they're the open sesame, afterwards the world is yours.

Welcome to the site, hope you enjoy it.

Of course I welcome you.

But:
"... and have a Masters Degree in creative writing from a well known US university."

holds no water here.

Arrange your words for us to see.

hi anne, it's the poetry we're interested in, not the degrees.
you had your pm switched off so no one could contact you.
apparently your single line of feedback needs to be more following of the feedback guidelines
welcome to the site.

I can't reset my PW. Every time I have a new activation code and PW sent I go in and try and the system won't allow me to reset my PW. I am ready to give up. It's taking too much time. I'd love to post more but I'm not able to get here easily.

Don't give up just yet...I'll c & p your post into a thread called technical help in site tutorials and maybe it will be addressed.  This site is worth the struggle.

Rumors of my death...

...have been greatly exaggerated!

I have told a few of you that a contracted pneumonia a while back. It turns out that it was due to a faulty heart valve resulting in congestive heart failure. The valve has been repaired and I am well on my way to recovery.

Sorry, to have missed National Poetry Month, as I really enjoyed the challenge last year! Cheers/Chris

You know we aren't going to hold you to a date, don't you? So you might as well go back and write a poem a day from now til you get done. SOrry to hear about the CHF, I got that one too. Glad you are back!

love you,
mel.
