Pink portapotties
stand rank and file in fall grass
empty and unused.

Pink Portapotties™

girl-disdained outdoors.

I always read it as “Vale of Valencies”

I think hyphenations are cheating

The first two lines are all you need, aren’t they?

Don’t see the third adding anything

Kinda agree with Busker.

Pink Portapotties™
lean emptily
in fall grass

Also, I don't think Portapotties requires the "TM" so long as it's capped. I've seen "Frisbee" and "Hoover" and others used without.

Thanks to both critics - the last line was both preachy and unnecessary - with so few syllables there are none to waste!

The origin of this (I wrote a much longer poem about it, which was *really* preachy), was
driving down to the range one morning (being an auncient chad, otherwise known as a fudd) I saw this amazing vista in a misty roadside valley:  hundreds of pink portapotties (relocatable privies) standing out on the long grass in uneven rows - a few doors open, some the worse for weather, but not a human being in sight.  Trying to make sense of the vision, the first cut was that these were being temporarily stored there.  But why?  Obviously, these are for the ladies, both for the benefit of users in selecting the correct door and presumably to contain necessities such as dispensers and receptacles for ladies' particular needs; color-coding evades the symbolic difficulty posed to sex-coded symbols by the man-in-a-dress.

But why so many, and so abandoned?  Well, my non-woke thinking suggested, there aren't many outdoor jobs with no heavy lifting, so little demand for outdoor facilities... but there's probably a regulation somewhere that, so long as women are even allowed to apply for field jobs, the employer has to provide facilities... even though they'll never be used as intended.  And there are, of course, female migrant agricultural workers.

Then it came to me:  there *is* a legitimate purpose for such a concentration.  In case of natural disaster, when the waterworks break down, there will be an urgent and massive need for these items which otherwise face little demand.  So it makes sense to stockpile them in an out-of-the-way and otherwise fallow area (under high-tension lines).  A few weeks later they were gone - no doubt forklifted up and trucked to some other FEMA holding field.

Hi duke,
better for changing L3, but not sure it adds anything that isn't inferable from L2. Given your (FEMA) explanation I wonder if you're not missing a trick by alluding to some natural disaster, or other? Also, I thought the roadside image a bit more engaging than 'fall grass'.

Pink portapotties
...
waiting for the flood.

Best, Knot

Oh!  That's good.  I'll have to work hard to better it.

And, P.S., they were back again this morning!  Looks like a different group this time - all pink, but those in the front row, at least, were brand-new.

Fantastic. So, three mysteries. Who's behind it (FEMA, or ...?) Why have they returned? And, where are all the blue ones?

Oh, blue ones are all over - saw one at a construction  site near the pinkpotty stockpile.  I don't believe that's the predominant color for them, though - some are red or yellow (safety) and some brown or green (eyesore mitigation).  Pink is definitely special, though - can't recall ever having seen one "on the job."

You got me curious, so went a searching and found

https://www.webstaurantstore.com/polyjoh...31012.html

not to mention

https://www.sanitationsolutionsinc.com/p...s-for-sale

the tip of a very multicoloured iceberg.

That said, it doesn't explain the sudden appearance/reappearance by you. No music festivals or similar in your neck of the woods?
