Here is a poem I have written for a dear lady friend of mine from the Philippines. I followed an "aabb-ccbb" rhyme scheme and confined each line to an 8 syllable meter.
Angeli
Dear Angeli the goddess dame
Your wayward heart I've yet to tame
Whose blessing that I must possess
To quail the love I can't suppress
At last to be within your reach
I'll journey to your distant beach
Whose flawless name I'll there address
And gentle hands I'll then caress
Then as you part your silken hair
And yield a smile that soothes despair
There to me will your charm confide
A gift of love that won't subside
To you I'll pledge my lush adore
And there your blessing I'll implore
Then shall your passion coincide
In love together we'll abide
