Hi, My name is Halley. I'm nineteen and from Indiana. I've been in a relationship for the past two years and its better than ever every day. I have 2 cockateils, 2 dogs, a cat and a spider. I have to many house plants and i love being out side in the woods. Writing has been something I've done since I was very young, it just never left me. I've never studied anywhere and i have no plans to go anytime soon. At the moment, I am focused on my path to enlightenment. I try to do yoga regularly and meditate also although i get less of that done. Well, thats me.

I love it when teenagers refer to the days when they were "very young"

Greetings all and thanks for having me. I write and read a great deal of fantasy/fiction. Unpublished of course and really not such a pro at writing but I try. The poetry I write is relative to my stories and usually is of a rhyming nature. Oh no, he's a rhymer. Anyway, thanks for having me on board and I hope to get to know many of you in the future.
Tim PS: I read mostly classic fantasy/fiction. Not so much sci-fi. Just Be!

Hello there.
I'm Kevin, 24, Filipino/German from Davao. I'm a very frustrated poet. I used to write some stuff in my High School years back in 2007 and have just recently started writing again. My inspiration used to be my girlfriend, up to the point when she said she didn't like my creations and made an example of a piece that her ex wrote which she preferred more. Well, that sucked. A few months forward, our relationship has improved, but my writing has become much more stagnant. I haven't written anything since. Today, she called for a breakup or something... and so I decided to make use of the spare time I used to have for her and find some place to escape to online. And oh yeah, I'm wordy too. Sorry. I don't really know what to say. I guess I should just end it here.

Greetings, all!
I am new to this website. Over the past few years, I have been a member of many other forums, similar to this. But, well, life is a journey, and journeys have a way of continuing. Paths diverge, come together, et cetra. As such, I have come here. Henceforth, I will read, critique, and publish my poems on this site. I look forward to the dawn of a new age.

Good morning Victoria. Your posts must be accepted by the moderation team before they appear, and as the team consists of humans who live in all parts of the world, please be patient. We require three critiques that live up to the spirit of the forum. If you are not certain what sort of critique is acceptable, you will find this thread at the top of most forums and it's a good idea to check the individual forum rules also.

Hi, Victoria, welcome to the Pen. Please try to keep your critiques for others specific to each piece rather than passing on general advice you've read, your first almost didn't get through.

(03-01-2016, 10:30 PM)victoriahunter Wrote: Can you please show me where i wasn't specific, in one poem please? I am usually always specific. I am going to review every critique I gave. I don't see how my critique was not specific enough. each line I critiqued I gave on them I suggested. I even complimented before I started. On my poem "fathers ghost" there are people going right to negative giving very heavy negative critique with smug attitudes and their critiques were allowed to go through. one say "means nothing" and the other say "just because you read poetry.." Yet I am being told my critique almost did not go through, although their critique is pure negative. I removed my poems because the critique were so unethical and not supported without any suggestions for improvements, other than punctuation. I posted in mild critique. That's what I gave. I was not trying to go line by line all the way down, that would be heavy critique. What do you mean by get through? Hi, Victoria, I was referring to the post below, your first. I've put the parts that seemed to be general advice in bold. Both critiques you followed up with were much more helpful and specific to the poem. Thank you for that. ![]() EDIT: Oh, and by "got through" I meant that as it states in our welcome letter, the first three critiques are moderated. Once three are approved the registrant becomes a full member can post as they like freely and start their own threads. My bold. (03-01-2016, 02:53 AM)victoriahunter Wrote: Hi I am new here. Hey from Ray,
He says he's working on a big project and won't allow the pigpen to distract him until he's finished it, a good ways into the future. He seems fine and happy with the work, Go Ray.
