Hi All
> <
I'm back after a 2 year hiatus.
I have a writing studio and everything, and now is the time to get serious about writing again.
I don't have many poets around here to exchange feedback, so I'm back on PigPen!

Hello all, I'm Illya. I've taken a poetry workshop as an undergrad and one in grad school, so I'm familiar with formal and more modern poetry. I joined to get back into the scene of constructively criticizing content and appreciating the experiences and imaginations of our fellow humans. I have a BA in English and an MFA in Creative Writing and I mostly write nonfiction like essays, articles and blog posts.

Hey, everyone. I'm new to the site and not much more experienced when it comes to writing poetry. I just want to get better at it and help anyone any way I can in the process.

Hi, welcome to the Pen. For me it's been a great place to learn ways to improve, I hope you have a similar experience.

I have a BA in English and an MFA in Creative Writing and I mostly write nonfiction like essays, articles and blog posts. A lot of successful writers claim that poetry workshops, BA's in English,
and MFA's in Creative Writing destroy the creative parts of the brain to such
an extent that the actual act of writing becomes an impossibility. But I say to hell
with that type of negative thinking. Recent science has proven that human neurons,
given the right set of stimuli, are capable of amazing feats of regeneration.
Chin up... It's certainly within the realm of possibility that PigPen could help.
And welcome to PigPen.

will drive you to actually fulfilling your other need. Either way, you'll find plenty
of people here who are willing to join you.
Welcome to PigPen.

Hi all,
I'm going by the name Persadia in this forum, because I like it.
I have written 3 poems that I know of, in my life. The last 2 I wrote on the same day and decided I wanted to post them in a place where I can get some valuable, candid feedback. I also would like to learn more about poetry and want to explore writing more of it.
I like the rule about giving feedback, and feel this will help givers and receivers become better writers of it (poetry and feedback).

Your welcome letter explains how to make the New Thread button magically appear.
And another bloated corpse is just what we needed around here, so welcome.

Point of the site is people want to get better and they won't do that without critique. So, do your best. Critique is a gift don't think of it as a bad thing. Welcome to the site!

Sorry, the site is built on give and take, and the idea that one's own poetry can improve from the thoughtful reading of and interacting with other members' poems.
If you'd like to learn to give a helpful critique try reading the Important Threads of Basic Critique, if not maybe you can post on a site without our requirements. I hope you give it a try, it can be interesting and fun.
