ok ... now you've convused me.
You still ask Him (God) to take care of your loved ones ... and you still think IF there were a god he'd be evil.

Do you ask for care for your loved ones from God out of habit?
Because in your heart you know there may be the possibility of His existence?
Or is it out hopefulness that He exists and would watch over them?
Or the fear of not knowing for sure?
i think it's out of habit, i was brought up in convents and such. only as an adult did my world view of religion and god change.
i think the payers to look after my kids is just me hoping they stay safe and well. maybe i'm hoping that somehow they'll know they're in my heart. i really don't believe in god though, not even a little bit Big Grin

Yeah, that's how I feel about prayer as well. Even when a situation is out of my hands, there's something inside me that still wants to do more for the people I love. It's just a way of throwing those good intentions out there into the universe, and hoping... well, just hoping. Smile
PS. If you can, try your hand at giving some of the others a bit of feedback. If you already have, thanks, can you do some more?

i think we're often creatures of habit. if you've been brought up in or near religion you still say an odd prayer out of habit more than out of belief.
